GTS Distribution has hired industry veteran Karvin Cheung as Director of Business Development for Trading Cards.
Cheung started in the hobby in the early ‘90s as a dealer before working for Grosnor Distribution in Canada. Over the last 15 years, he worked in product development roles at both Panini America and Upper Deck, where he helped develop some of the industry’s leading brands and marquee cards. Cheung had worked on Panini’s hockey and football brands after joining the company as Product Development Director in 2011, but the company lost its NHL license earlier this year.
“Karvin knows the industry and products. We feel he is going to be a tremendous asset as we constantly look for better ways to service our customers,” said GTS President, Steve Snyder.
Headquartered in Lynwood, WA, GTS has nine locations across the U.S. and serves hobby shops with a lineup of trading card, collectibles, gaming and supplies.
“I couldn’t be happier to join GTS,” Said Cheung. “They really focus on the hobby shop and know that strong, healthy shops are at the heart of the hobby. I am excited to help GTS find new and different ways to partner with dealers, so everyone can grow.”
