It didn’t take long for jerseys from the 2023 NBA Finals to reach the auction market.
The shirts from the Game 1 matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat last week have launched at NBA Auctions. Among them: the first Finals jersey from Nikola Jokic, who joined Jason Kidd as the only players in league history to record a triple-double in their Finals debut.
Jokic’s jersey–a size 58 with 6 inches of extra length–is one of 28 game-worn and game-issued jerseys up for bids. He scored 27 points, dished out a game high 14 assists and snared 10 rebounds in Denver’s 104-93 home win. As of Tuesday evening, bidding had topped $27,000 with more than a week left in the auction.
All of the jerseys have the NBA Finals logo stitched above the player’s name on the back and are registered into the NBA/MeiGray database.
A jersey worn by Jokic in four games including a round 1 playoff contest sold for over $52,000 in May while his Christmas Day shirt netted $33,363 in February.
The jersey worn by Jamal Murray, who recorded a 26-point double-double, is another Nuggets jersey also seeing strong action from bidders in the current auction.
Heat jerseys up for sale include those worn by Eastern Conference Finals MVP Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
Butler’s jersey from the Heat’s playoff opening win over the Milwaukee Bucks sold for over $20,000 last week.
Bidding is set to run through June 14 on the NBA Auctions website.
