A grand opening Wednesday night will bring some glitz to the world of sports memorabilia Tuesday night in Las Vegas with the opening of SCORE!, a 10,000-square foot interactive exhibit located in the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
Billed as the first the first multi-sport interactive exhibit and sports fantasy experience of its kind, it features historically significant memorabilia from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Hockey Hall of Fame, Boxing Hall of Fame and U.S. Soccer Federation.
SCORE! contains more than 300 prized pieces housed in eight galleries and valued in the millions of dollars.
One exhibit features includes a wall of contracts signed by some of the biggest names in sports, with negotiation letters and scouting reports.
The permanent exhibits feature items dating to the early 20th century and include Marcus Allen’s 1981 Heisman Trophy, championship rings, World Series trophies, Jim Brown’s 1957 MVP trophy and a large collection of game worn jerseys. Items are on loan from the various Hall of Fame and and private collectors, including the massive game worn jersey collection of late attorney Jock Smith.
The experience at SCORE! winds through eight galleries showcasing hundreds of real uniforms worn by sports icons. The football gallery includes jerseys from Terry Bradshaw and Emmitt Smith; then there is Wayne Gretzky in the hockey gallery, Muhammad Ali in the boxing area, Babe Ruth in the baseball gallery, Richard Petty in the racing exhibit, Mia Hamm in the soccer area and Michael Jordan in the basketball gallery.
Fans can also participate in challenges such as an NHL-themed stick-handling drill, college combine tests, baseball speed pitch, peripheral vision test, NASCAR-themed pit-stop challenge and vertical leap test all designed to see how you to the pros.
SCORE!’s unique interactive platform was produced by Sports Emmy winner John Brenkus, author of the “Perfection Point” and host of television’s popular Sports Science.
SCORE! offers a first-of-its-kind fantasy sports experience with the introduction of custom technology that includes an interactive app and a slew of Apple iPads enabling fans to sign with a virtual sports agent and later become a professional athlete with their favorite team or sport.
At the end of the tour, fans can see for themselves through a “virtual locker” a synopsis of their career featuring their team uniform, press release, signing bonus and a personalized magazine cover highlighting their induction to their favorite hall of fame.
SCORE! provides fans a choice to buy the image or promote their experience on the spot via social media.

In addition to the interactive exhibit, SCORE! features a Fan Shop and a broadcast studio.
Jock Smith died earlier this year. His son Janay is the president of SCORE! He called the opening a “dream come true”. “(My dad) amassed the nation’s largest private collection of game-worn uniforms across all major sports. As the first African-American owners of a business on the Las Vegas Strip, my family is ecstatic to finally share with the public more than 200 stellar pieces that took more than 25 years to collect.”
SCORE! is open daily at 10 a.m. with the last admission at 9 p.m. Tickets are $28 per person, $20 for Nevada residents and $15 for children under 12.
