The NHL doesn’t mess around.
Even before the puck dropped for the 2019 Winter Classic game at Notre Dame Stadium Tuesday, the jerseys worn by the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins were on the auction block.
NHL Auctions, in conjunction with Fanatics, has 44 jerseys from the game and all six pucks from Boston’s 4-2 win up for grabs. Among the old school-style jerseys being offered are those from Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Dominik Kahun, Cam Ward, Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and Tuukka Rask. Kahun, Bergeron and Marchand all scored and those pucks are also being sold. Images of the jerseys were expected to be added as soon as they could be photographed.
Bidding for the jerseys opened at $250. As of late Thursday morning, Kane’s jersey had the top bid at over $4,500. Some jerseys assigned to players who didn’t play are being sold as well.
Fanatics/NHL Auctions is also offering pucks with melted ice from the surface of the rink and signed pucks that aren’t game-used.
Each item comes with an individually numbered, tamper proof hologram and can be verified online.
Bidding is open through January 23.
