A jersey worn by the NBA’s 2017-18 MVP during this past season’s playoff run is on the auction block where it’s already generating a buzz.
NBA Auctions is offering James Harden’s black #13 jersey, worn during the Western Conference first round, semi-finals and finals. It was on his back during a stretch in which he registered three double-doubles and scored 41 points on two occasions.
Bidding opened Thursday and had rocketed to $8,000 by mid-day.
Harden wore the jersey during the Rockets’ 122-104 Western Conference Round 1, Game 5 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on April 25, 2018. He wore it again in the semis against Utah on April 29, May 2 and May 8 and during the Western Conference Finals vs. Golden State on May 14 and 16.
Harden recorded a Double-Double on April 25 by registering 24 points with 12 assists, on May 2, when he scored 32 points with 11 assists and on May 16 when he went 27/10. He registered 41 points on April 29 and on May 14.
A size 50 with four inches extra length, the jersey is registered into the NBA and MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program.
Harden averaged 30.4 points, 8.8 assists and 1.8 steals during the regular season, edging LeBron James for the NBA MVP award.
Bidding is set to run through September 6 on the NBA Auctions website.
