Baseball cards are not immune to “Florida man” stories.
G. Ronald McCauley, f58, of Ft. Myers, is in jail after law enforcement officers say he and some accomplices strapped another man to a chair, hit him with a baseball bat and axe handle and stabbed him after accusing him of stealing “valuable” baseball cards.
McCauley if facing kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery, according to the Lee County, FL Sheriff’s Office.
The News-Press of Ft. Myers says the incident happened last week.

If you’ve ever spent time around Wrigley Field in the last 40+ years, you probably have seen Yesterday, a very old school memorabilia and collectibles shop run by Tom Boyle.
Located just a stone’s throw from the outfield fence on Addison Avenue, Yesterday had baseball cards, old yearbooks, programs, magazines, records, political items and more, all jammed into a small shop frequented by fans, the curious and collectors.
Boyle died Monday at age 88.
A friend told WBBM Radio he hopes to keep the shop open for awhile.
