Hunt Auctions announced Wednesday that it had reached agreement to become the autograph representative for Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star outfielder Andrew McCutchen. The relationship will commence immediately and will include a public signing event next year, likely during the season.
“We are honored to have been selected by Andrew McCutchen to represent him in the offering of his autographed materials and related public appearance.” said David Hunt, President of Hunt Auctions. “Without question, Andrew is one of the most highly regarded players in the game today as evidenced by his numerous accolades inclusive of Gold Glove Award and Silver Slugger in 2012. Equally impressive are Andrew’s commitments to charitable endeavors off the field and we are excited to have been afforded the opportunity to partner with such a fine player and member of the baseball community.”
McCutchen had a breakout season in 2012 finishing third in the National League voting for Most Valuable Player and selection to his second All-Star game appearance of his career. Other 2012 season accolades include Gold Glove Award, the Silver Slugger Award as the top offensive center fielder in baseball, and he was voted by players as the National League’s Outstanding Player.
“I am excited to be working with Hunt Auctions as my exclusive memorabilia provider. They are a strong and reputable company with a rich history.” said Andrew McCutchen. “It was important for me to work with a company I was comfortable with, and one who was also fair to the fans of myself and the Pittsburgh Pirates.”
“Basically, this is a continuation of our kiosk and Philly Show division in which we have worked with a number of teams and athletes over the past three to four years to bring the best of modern era collectibles to collectors as a compliment to our vintage operations,” Hunt told Sports Collectors Daily. “Some of the other athletes we have worked with include Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Roy Halladay, and Cliff Lee although none of them were exclusive to us. It is our intent to expand our team relationship retail offerings to our webstore which would include McCutchen items as well hopefully in the next calendar year.”
