Being related to a Hall of Famer…even one who’s no longer around..has it’s perks.
Rogers Hornsby hit at least .400 not once, but four times. So where did some of those bats he used wind up? Apparently in his grandson’s sandlot games. The Hornsby family of Murfreesboro, TN are direct descendants of "The Rajah" who know now baseball memorabilia of their famous relative is quite valuable.
“For me growing up he was just my granddaddy,” said Brad Hornsby, an attorney at Bullock, Fly and Hornsby in Murfreesboro. “I’d see him on holidays.”
One of Hornsby’s MVP trophies was a childhood toy, too. But meeting some of the actual members of baseball’s all-century team was the best part of the family’s connection to one of the game’s all-time greats.
Rogers Hornsby baseball cards and memorabilia for sale now.
