Veteran Hollywood actor Tom Sizemore is hoping to make a movie about a stolen baseball card collection in his hometown of Detroit and is offering perks to those who contribute to the independent project.

Sizemore and his brother Aaron, who wrote the script, are looking to raise $500,000 through crowd funding. They’ve already lined up some actors TV and movie buffs might recognize as well as a director and producer. They know what they want to shoot and where they want to shoot it, but they’re trying to avoid a big studio that might move the production out of Detroit.
According to an indiegogo.com page, An Honest Thief is the story of three outcasts who plot to steal a Detroit pawnbroker’s valuable baseball card collection . . . and get a little more than they bargained for along the way. The Sizemores say the movie is a “thrilling, antic, dramatic tale full of exciting plot twists and memorable characters”. The page includes videos from the Sizemore brothers and actress Sally Kellerman who talk about the effort to get the movie made.
Tom Sizemore has appeared in Natural Born Killers, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Heat and other movies. He’s set to play Danny St. Louis, who leads the trio of thieves.
Contributors to the project receive gifts. Give enough and you can go to the set or have lunch with one of the stars. The campaign closes on Nov. 13.
