For about the last 15 years, Chicago area collectors have had a retail outlet in the north suburbs to buy not only the latest wax packs, but also fill want lists of sports cards dating back several decades.
Galaxy Stores was opened by Steve Chou, a former IBM employee who decided to take a father-son hobby and turn it into a full-time business.
Now located in a busy shopping center in Naperville, the store boasts over 500,000 cards and other collectible items.
They also have an online store.
Back in the day when his son Jeff first got interested in cards, dad’s response wasn’t exactly gung-ho. The Naperville Sun stopped by to do a business profile where they told that story and went one-on-one with the owner.
