The Dallas Stars, MeiGray Group and HandBid are giving hockey fans the chance to bid on game-worn jerseys and other game gear right from their seats in the arena this Saturday.
The first of its kind event will take place during the Stars’ 1 PM Central time game with the Philadelphia Flyers at American Airlines Arena, although early bidding is already underway.
HandBid is a silent auction mobile bidding technology company with an app that aims to make it easy to bid in live auctions without having to raise a paddle or get up from a seat to enter a bid on a sheet in another part of the arena.
Sticks, helmets and other Stars memorabilia are among the 61 lots in the auction. Winning bidders all receive an invoice on their phone that they can quickly review and pay.
“We’re delighted to be bringing Stars fans their first in-arena game-worn jersey auction experience,” said MeiGray President Barry Meisel. “Stay in your seat, enjoy the game, log onto HandBid, and walk out with your favorite jersey Saturday night.”
The New Jersey based MeiGray Group has exclusive game-worn deals partnering with eight National Hockey League clubs, USA Hockey, the National Basketball Association and game worn jerseys acquired directly from the Washington Redskins.
“We are thrilled MeiGray Group will be utilizing our native mobile auction software,” said Jeff Porter, HandBid CEO. “Our HandBid platform connects with participating bidders on-site and throughout the country providing greater engagement with far less effort and superior results.”
