Not everything in Yankee Stadium is being sold.
While the Yankees and the city of New York look to strike a deal with a sports memorabilia distributor to unload the ballpark’s contents, the Baseball Hall of Fame has already taken possession of a number of items from the last season–and the last game.
Yankees memorabilia is among the top draws for the Cooperstown shrine and the Hall’s president was on hand over the weekend to see what he could take back.
Several game used and game worn pieces were donated by the players who used them. Johnny Damon’s home run bat will be included, but unfortunately for him, the stick doesn’t have his name on it.
