Hall of Famer-to be Tony Gwynn got his chance to poke around Cooperstown and was plenty awed by the memorabilia–and his chance to become part of the scene.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame is already preparing for the arrival of two very popular players this summer.
Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken will join the exclusive club this summer but each got a private tour this spring. Gwynn hadn’t been there in 10 years and seemed to really enjoy himself.
There is already a display of memorabilia both players, so if you see someone selling what they say is the last Padres white home jersey he wore in 2001 or the batting helmet he wore when he got his 3,000th hit on Aug. 6, 1999—don’t buy them.
