More than twice the number of stores will participate in National Hobby Shop Day this year than did during the first event last December.
GTS Distribution is again sponsoring the program, which is set for December 8 and includes free pizza and prizes for customers who patronize their local shop.
So far, 105 stores have committed to participate in National Hobby Shop Day, up from 40 last year according to GTS (a list of participating stores is below).
By doing business with GTS, shops will receive merchandise they can use as giveaways on the day of the event. Among the items are autographed jerseys from well-known players, packs, supplies and eBay gift certificates.
The timing of National Hobby Shop day was designed to spur traffic to brick-and-mortar stores that sometimes see a lull between Black Friday weekend and the week before Christmas.
Most major trading card manufacturers have also provided prizes and incentives stores will be handing out to customers.
