It’s the red, white and bluest product you’ll see this year–and maybe one to stick away for a rainy day. 2019 Panini Stars & Stripes Baseball arrived Wednesday, marking the seventh year of the company’s partnership with USA Baseball.
2019 Panini Stars & Stripes Basics
Each box of Stars & Stripes again carries five eight-card packs with a pretty good haul of autographs and memorabilia cards. Most boxes will have five hits plus five parallels along with 30 base cards. As of now, boxes are running $70-$75.
2019 Panini Base Set and Parallels
There are 100 cards in the base set featuring current players on America’s national teams and well-known alumni.
Autographs and Relics
Autographs from fifteen projected first round picks in the upcoming MLB Draft including seven of the top ten can be found in the product. One major draw is the inclusion of Ken Griffey Jr., Todd Helton, Mike Mussina and Roger Clemens.
While online images indicate sticker autographs are prevalent, Panini says there are on-card signatures from more than 40 players with parallels signed in black, blue, red, and green ink. Red, White and Blue parallels are in the mix.
Autograph relic cards will include jumbo swatches of Jersey, Bat, and Prime pieces. Look for the Gold Ink Auto set as well as black, blue, red, and green variations.
Some autographs will be in other languages. Hobby-exclusive Chinese Taipei and Japanese Collegiate All-Stars Silhouette Jersey Signatures with rare Patch, Brand Logo, and Laundry Tag parallels are included.
Look for game-worn material from some of the draft prospects amid the memorabilia card content.
