For the first time in 18 months, PSA is once again offering its Bulk service…but it may not quite be the Bulk service you remember from the pre-pandemic period.
The company announced Thursday that it would be offering a $22 rate to Collectors Club members who submit 25 cards or more with a declared value limit of $199 each. Cards must be submitted via two options: 1996 and newer or 1995 and older.
Turnaround times are expected to be 120-150 calendar days.
Collectors Club memberships are $99 per year.
“With demand for the company’s authentication and grading services at an all-time high, it’s of utmost importance that a more affordable service level option is brought back into the fold,” stated PSA’s Director of Product Marketing Tommy Paderes. “This is a concerted effort to help collectors not only update personal collections by getting their favorite cards encapsulated inside impressive PSA holders, but to also assist Set Registry members complete their own set-building pursuits.”
The $22 rate is now the lowest service level PSA offers.
PSA offered bulk rates as low as $8 per card for cards valued at $99 and under prior to the latest hobby boom. Bulk was discontinued on April 30, 2020 as PSA was being overwhelmed by modern cards, with a backlog that the company is still working to completely clear. PSA has been opening broader service levels this year as it moved closer to eliminating the backlog.
The company says it has tripled its operational capacity footprint from 62,000 square feet to more than 180,000 square feet. They also added additional graders and have implemented round-the-clock shifts to help improve turnaround times.
