A game-worn jersey dating to Gordie Howe’s final season with the Detroit Red Wings will be offered for the first time in Classic Auctions’ first big sale next year.
According to Classic, the red jersey from the 1970-71 season originated from a former neighbor of Mr. Hockey who received it as a gift decades ago.
It’s the first Howe Red Wings jersey to be offered at auction in several years.
The jersey has been photo matched to images, including and up to Howe’s second to last road game on March 31, 1971.
