The Bay Area may be one of North America’s more underrated regions when it comes to sports collecting. There’s a strong base of collectors who have, in the past at least, supported a number of large shows.
With the San Francisco Giants earning their first World Series title in the city nearly two months ago, shops in the area are seeing a boost in business. Long-time collectors are buying up 2010 Giants cards, new collectors are coming into the fold and there’s little doubt that Giants baseball cards will be under a few trees this weekend.
The San Francisco Chronicle paid a visit to a few area shops and writer Ron Kroichick came away relieved that those “quaint, old fashioned collectibles” still got love from the public.
