It takes just a few seconds. Sign your name on a program, a trading card, a ball or a photo. For most athletes, it comes with the territory.
Collecting autographs has gone from a pasttime to a profession for some. The explosion of the memorabilia market and eBay have only made it more popular.
Most fans, though, are still just collectors at heart. In Oklahoma, they’ll stand in line a long time to meet a former Sooner hero. The college stars are usually just glad to be remembered.
