By most accounts, he’s the greatest basketball player who ever lived. A little more than 30 years ago, though, he was just another bored kid in Advanced Chemistry class, writing a sweet letter to a girl he had the hots for.
A letter written by Michael Jordan to Laqueta Robinson when the two were teenagers sold at auction in 2004 for over $5,000. However, it wasn’t until the letter got posted on the popular “Letters of Note” site recently that it got a lot of attention. A TV station did a story on it. And that’s finally when Ms. Robinson discovered it was no longer in her possession.
She says she wasn’t the one who consigned it. She suspects a family member stole it–and some other Jordan memorabilia once he became MICHAEL JORDAN.
She’s vowing to take action against the person responsible. First, though, she shared the story with WTVD in Raleigh-Durham.
