Chuck Essegian made his way onto a few baseball cards in the 1960s but his heroics in the 1959 may have been a bad career move.
Chuck Essegian wasn’t born to play baseball. His career spanned six seasons with six different teams. He wasn’t a star or a Hall of Famer. But his two homers in the 1959 World Series helped win it all for the Dodgers.
They were pinch-hit jobs, though and it may have created an unfair reputation for him. He remained a journeyman player but his post-baseball life has been a good and lucrative one.
