Most collectors of sports memorabilia may be men who remember opening packs of baseball cards in their youth but anyone who loves the game can be a collector and age is no factor at all.
For Susan Plymel, the collecting bug bit when her husband gave her a signed Joe DiMaggio baseball, but she was a fan long before that.
Living in Florida, with access to teams during spring training has helped her add to an autograph collection that is starting to outgrow the couple’s home in Melbourne.
Involved in the realty and construction business, the Plymels are active in the hobby, buying what strikes their fancy.
They have catalogued every item just to make sure they know what they have since the collection has gotten so large.
We can’t vouch that every autograph is authentic but it’s safe to say that there is a lot of nice stuff.
“We don’t have a yacht, we don’t do fancy dinners, we don’t buy $200 jeans with someone’s name on it. This is what we enjoy doing,” Susan told SpaceCoastDaily.com, which offers a story, pictures and video in this story.
