The list of first goal pucks of the 2023-24 NHL season to hit the auction block includes the league’s top rookie and some big name superstars.
MeiGray Auctions, which has contracts with six NHL teams to sell game-worn and game-used memorabilia, is offering 58 pucks from games played over the first several weeks of the season.
Lot number one is the first Connor Bedard goal puck to reach the market–one he shot for his tenth goal in a loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 22. The 18-year-old number one draft pick has 11 goals in 24 games for the Chicago Blackhawks so far.
The two goals scored by Sidney Crosby for the Pittsburgh Penguins in an October 13 game against the Washington Capitals are represented in the auction, with pucks from his 551st and 552nd career goals being offered. In that same game, Evgeni Malkin netted his first goal of the season and 472nd of his career and that one, too, is listed.
The puck from Connor McDavid’s 305th career goal and second of the season is up for grabs as well. McDavid scored in a 6-1 win over Nashville on Oct. 17.
Bidding on each of the 58 pucks opened at $50. The auction runs through Dec. 21 at MeiGrayAuctions.com.
