It was a big new release week for sports cards, which is always a good week in my book. Like most shops, we have collectors who are ready to pounce when new products hit the shelf.
2022 Panini Donruss Elite Football is among the early arrivals for the new NFL season. It’s sort of a middle of the road release in terms of price point and quality but it has always been a solid seller for us, so we were excited to add some boxes to our inventory.
Elite is a product that we have reordered numeroushttps://ebay.us/Af4mrD times in past years after selling through our initial stock. Right now, the best box pricing online is $340-$375.
Seeing our very first regular season games take place as well as my fantasy week going down the drain already,(thanks, Matt Stafford) we also received a few other football new releases for collectors to catch. The 2021 H2 version of Select football is in stock with some exclusive Disco Prizm parallel cards.
Select is one of the products I most look forward to each year, so I was excited to see Kyler Murray’s grill on the new box (but yes, this is a 2021 product). The best current pricing is under $500 at the moment.
In our particular case, H2 specifically has definitely been very hit-or-miss over the years in the various products it’s found in. I’ll keep you posted and let you know how this particular version sells for us.
Late last week we got a single box of 2021-22 Optic Basketball from one of our trusty vendors. Literally a single loose box. Gee, thanks.
We did manage to rustle up a few more in this week so we have a respectable amount of product on the shelf for our walk in customers and for sale online. In instances like these, we order (or request) cases of product and end up with a few loose boxes. That can make for a frustrating email or call to said vendors.
We are nearing the final leg of the MLB regular season and headed straight into playoffs and eventually the Fall Classic. In turn, we got the brand new 2022 baseball edition of Jersey Fusion cards. This is a fun product that combines original cards and memorabilia of the absolute top tier all stars and legendary players of all time.
We’ve had a wide array of this product in various sports and we’ve yet to see a player who’s not a household name featured. We’re excited to crack into this baseball product and pull our very own Mickey Mantle game used jersey card.
The store was busy this week as we also saw a large number of new action figures and other categories come in the back door and out to the sales floor to fill our shelves.
As the new football season unfolds, we’ll be seeing more 2022 football products arrive and collectors will be anxious to pick up the impact rookies and breakout stars.
The shop is a buzz with pigskin on our minds. I hope everyone’s geared up for what should be a great football season. We know we are.
