Within minutes of the announcement that Brett Favre’s consecutive games played streak would end because of injury, Favre’s official website showed an offer for streak commemorative signed footballs.
Favre began the streak in 1992. It ended with his sprained shoulder keeping him out of the game against the New York Giants in Detroit Monday night. While Favre has started 297 regular season games, the streak actually extends well over 300 counting playoffs.
“We are now offering Official NFL football signed by Brett with inscription: 297 starts 1992-2010,” reads an announcement on OfficialBrettFavre.com.
The balls are being pre-sold with Favre apparently ready to deliver the autographs within a month. A portion of all proceeds will go to the Favre 4 Hope Foundation.
The balls come with a certificate of authenticity and a picture of Favre from the signing as well as holograms.
