The sad case of a get-rich-quick scheme gone bad is finally wrapping up in Green Bay where one of the men involved in a phony autograph scheme has copped a plea.
The only thing that might sell better than beer and long underwear in Green Bay is a genuine Brett Favre autograph.
They’re pricey but if you could somehow sell them cheaper than anyone else you’d have a lot of customers. Some fans couldn’t tell the difference in a real signature and one that was done by machine. That helped a scam succeed for awhile, but just over a year ago, undercover agents came calling and the rest is now history.
One man is already in jail for his role. Now another has pleaded guilty and will soon be introduced to another kind of pen.
