Topps continues the parade of Archives Signature Series products with 2018 Retired Player Edition.
Set to hit shops and online stores on October 3, the 2018 product will again have a checklist of what Topps calls “Hall of Famers, legends and fan favorites.” You can see the full checklist below.
Once again, each box has just the one signed card, will be priced at about $45 retail and includes previously released Topps-branded cards now carrying the player’s autograph, a serial number and a foil stamp identifying it as an Archives Signature Series buyback. Some of those previous releases used for the product will be memorabilia cards. Each card is encased and hand signed. There will be 20 boxes per case.
Exactly which players Topps rounded up to sign for Archives Signature isn’t known yet, but preliminary product information released by the company includes images of signed cards from Nolan Ryan, Johnny Bench, Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson and Mark McGwire.
Topps says 2018 Archives Signature Series Retired Player Edition will have a “limited” production run, but how many cards are being released isn’t known. Players on the checklist typically sign varying quantities of a few different cards from those past releases. The checklist will be out closer to release date.
