A North Carolina reporter sizes up online autograph offerings with Jake Delhomme.
An HBO segment on sports autographs left a bad taste in the mouths of many. The show brought Dan Marino in front of a computer to check out some eBay signatures purported to be his. The Hall of Famer claimed most were not real.
Now, a Charlotte, North Carolina TV station has done something along those same lines, although not quite with the same star power.
Reporter/anchor Dave Wagner corraled Panthers’ quarterback Jake Delhomme and a couple of others, then put some online scribbles to the test. We’re not sure how much money there is in fake Delhomme and phony Tommy John signatures, but there are apparently some people out there giving it a go.
