One of the best copies of the 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite LeBron James Rookie Patch Autograph card sold for over $1.5 million Saturday night while a three-box case of the same product went for $840,000 at Goldin Co.
The company’s holiday sale saw numerous lots hit the six-figure mark, including high-end rookie cards, a ticket to James’ NBA debut and a game-used Tom Brady jersey with a one-of-a-kind inscription.
The Exquisite James RP, numbered 30 out of 99, is graded 8.5 with a 10 autograph grade.
It wasn’t the only big money sale featuring a card of the 37-year-old NBA icon, though. A 2020 Prizm Gold with a photo of his “Kobe tribute” dunk, numbered to 10 and graded 9 by PSA, went for an eye-popping $204,000 while a Topps Chrome Rookie Gold Refractor numbered 24/50 and graded BGS 9.5 sold for $900,000.
A full ticket from James’ October 29, 2003 NBA debut at Arco Arena in Sacramento sold for a record $36,000. The ticket’s original cost was $14.
Another big memorabilia item that changed hands was the jersey worn by Tom Brady in last season’s regular season finale against the Atlanta Falcons. After the season, Brady autographed it and inscribed “SB LV MVP” next to his name, along with “GAME USED 1-3-21”, “26/41 399 YD’s 4 TDS” and “G.O.A.T.”
It’s the first time Brady has ever proclaimed himself the “greatest of all-time” on any item and bidders chased it up to a final realized price of $480,000–the most ever paid for an NFL game-worn jersey, according to Goldin.
Another record was set with the sale of a PSA 10 2003 NetPro Elite Glossy Serena Williams rookie card at $55,200–the most ever paid for a card featuring a female athlete.

- 1994 Upper Deck Mickey Mantle/Ken Griffey Jr. dual autograph card BGS 9.5/10 $57,600
The second session of the two-night auction was set to close Sunday.
