The New York Mets want you to feel Jose Reyes’ pants. But you’ll have to buy them first.
OK, maybe it didn’t turn into that World Series kind of season fans were hoping for but if you can get past the memories of the National League Championship series, it wasn’t such a bad year for the New York Mets.
The clubs, together with their memorabilia partner, Steiner, are unloading the storage lockers with everything from David Wright’s NLDS jersey to clubhouse chairs (game-sat) to an autographed 1986 Mets baseball up for grabs. They’re holding an on-line baseball memorabilia auction in hopes of starting fresh in ’07. Can you blame them?
Same goes for the Yanks, who are offering game-used bases, more pants, jerseys and autographed stuff.
