A unique auction featuring autographed items, a game-used World Series bat and other memorabilia is underway on eBay.
The Erstad Charity Auction, a charity venture from former Angels’ star Darin Erstad and his wife Jessica, will raise money to benefit the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center. All items were personally collected by Erstad.
The auction actually began last week, with items put up for bid on a staggered basis. Several lots will close in the coming days including autographed jerseys from Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera, baseballs signed by Albert Pujols, Roy Halladay, Ken Griffey Jr., Johan Santana, Rickey Henderson and the 1998 American League All-Star team.
The auction also features balls signed by the 2002 World Series champion Angels team and tickets to this year’s All-Star Game in Anaheim.
The online auction is an extension of the 7th annual Jessica Erstad “Not So Serious” Women’s Golf Outing, which will be held later this month in Yorba Linda, CA.
“Jessica believes very strongly in the Prevention Center,” Darin Erstad said. “I have seen her passion with her golf event and was trying to find any way to help. We have received such great support throughout our time in Orange County, it’s nice to be able to give back to the community.”
The Child Abuse Prevention Center directly serves at-risk children and families in crisis to prevent and break the generational cycle of child abuse.
