Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith has turned over some items from his personal collection to eBay for a special auction.
It’s part of a partnership between the online sales giant and Smith’s authentication company, PROVA Group.
Among the items up for bid are a pair of game balls including the one Smith carried across the goal line for the third touchdown of his career in his 1990 rookie season, a game-used Arizona Cardinals jersey from a game against the New England Patriots in 2004, a touchdown ball from the 1993 NFC Championship game and two other helmets Smith says are game-used but have no verified connection to a specific game.
A total of 17 lots are up for bid through August 5. The items will be authenticated and tagged with PROVA authentication.
Smith says 80% of the proceeds will go to Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities.
He’s also hosting a virtual meet-and-greet this Sunday, August 2 via his mobile events platform, Notable Live. Fans can register for the program at events.notable.live, and download the Notable Live app from the App Store or on Google Play to join the conversation on the day of the Event.
