NFL great Emmitt Smith is putting items from his personal collection up for auction as part of a new partnership.
Throughout the 2021-2022 football season, Smith will be auctioning off game-worn and autographed items on eBay while connecting with fans and collectors in a live, virtual environment.
The first group of items being offered this week include game-worn Cowboys and Cardinals jerseys, gloves, shoes, footballs used to score some of those 175 career touchdowns and other memorabilia. The items can be found on a dedicated eBay page. The first batch of auctions close Wednesday night.
Smith no stranger to the sports memorabilia world, having founded an authentication company (PROVA) and has appeared at numerous autograph sessions over the years.
“The fans’ passion for the game and for their favorite players is what makes this space so special. It’s always been about the fans more than it is about the athletes,” Smith stated in announcing the auction platform.
Notable Live will also be providing a live virtual experience where fans can chat with Smith and other athletes about their careers and the pieces up for auction. Smith will appear in a live, free online event from Canton, OH on Friday, just ahead of this weekend’s Hall of Fame inductions.
“Fans not only can buy genuine memorabilia directly from the source, but for the first time ever, create a unique memory to attach to those items they can’t get anywhere else,” remarked Founder and CEO of Notable Live, Mike Antonucci.
Smith, who spent most of his career with the Dallas Cowboys before finishing with the Arizona Cardinals, won three Super Bowls during his 15 NFL seasons. He still holds the NFL’s all-time career rushing yards record at 18,355 and rushing touchdowns with 175.
