The website FanIQ has sort of a Groupon for sports collectors right now.
They’ve made arrangements with Topps to offer $40 worth of merchandise from the Topps online store for $20. That’s a pretty nice deal for modern era collectors and it’s good for about a year.

Topps is still counting down it’s top 60 cards of all-time. They’ve released #11, 12 and 13. #13 is the 1970 Topps Nolan Ryan #712. It’s a high number and that’s part of the allure. #12 is the 1982 Topps Traded Cal Ripken #50T and #11 is…the 1985 Topps Mark McGwire Team USA “rookie card”. The last one is a little tough to swallow, but if you can transport yourself back in time and recall how hot the card was at one time, it’s somewhat understandable.
Blogger JayBee Anama decided to take Topps’ countdown and do it one better. He’s picked his top five favorite cards from every year the company has produced a set and shows them off. Quite a monumental project. See his picks here.
