A quick holiday edition of the Editor’s Blog just to say thanks for another great year.
If you’re a regular reader, a casual visitor, an industry executive, advertiser or blogger who sends traffic our way, thank you for your ongoing support. I’m looking forward to a great 2011 and believe it or not, we’ll celebrate our fifth anniversary early this summer.
SGC sent a message to customers via email Friday confirming what it had already revealed via its message board earlier this month: James Spence Authentication was making an “equity investment” in the company.
Said SGC, “The two entities believe this strategic investment will enhance the ability of both companies to better service the needs of autograph and card collectors.
“JSA simultaneously announced that its investment in SGC will have no impact on its relationship with Beckett Grading Services, which shall continue as heretofore.”
If you think you can’t get a percentage off your eBay purchase or cash back, think again. Collectors have had a field day using eBay’s ongoing Bucks promotion, which offers cash back based on the amount you spend for a card or piece of memorabilia. Funds accumulate until a specified date when they become available on any eBay purchase.
It can add up to a pretty good sized sum if you’re a regular bidder/buyer.
Add to that the cash back offered by Big Crumbs and buyers have been getting some very nice discounts. The latter also offers members a referral fee so you continue earning even when someone else is doing the buying.
Speaking of deals… here’s a way to make that Christmas money go a little farther. From now until January 11, you can get 11% off at SportsMemorabilia.com when you use coupon code: NEWYEAR at checkout.
