The timing couldn’t be much better.
The Greater Boston Sports Collectors Club’s 28th New England National show will get underway less than 36 hours after the Red Sox clinched the 2013 World Series and first at home since Babe Ruth was a member of the team.
The popular show kicks off this weekend at the Shriner’s Auditorium in Wilmington, MA and you can probably
guess that sales of Red Sox cards and memorabilia will be strong.
While no current Red Sox players were on the guest list at last check, more than 400 dealer tables will be packed full of new and old sports cards and memorabilia to satisfy collectors and fans.

More than two dozen athletes are slated to sign autographs over the course of three days including Baseball Hall of Famers, hockey stars, a US women’s soccer standout and an Olympic gymnast. The list includes Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens, Brad Marchand, Greg Campbell, Johnny Boychuk, Pete Rose, Andre Tippett, Aly Raisman, Paul Molitor, Rickey Henderson, Tim McCarver, Rod Carew, Sammy Stewart, Rudy Ruettiger, Jerry Kramer, Normand Leveille, Hope Solo, Curt Leskanic, Jeff Reardon, Ray Bourque, Jenny Dell, and Rollie Fingers.
PSA, Beckett and SGC will be there to accept submissions for grading and authentication.
More than $1200 in door prizes will be given away and Panini will host a pack attack game for cards from its latest trading card releases.
Show hours are noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $7 with seniors and those under 12 free.
