The move to increase fees for stores, announced last month, is aimed at lowering the volume of merchandise, and hopefully making it a more attractive experience for buyers. That’s the PR-spin.
eBay also says there’s a lot of junk and duplicate material cluttering up cyberspace and making it harder for collectors to find what they want. They’d like to see sellers push their stuff back into the traditional auction format.
