eBay has rolled out a product designed for those who sell ungraded, lower value trading cards and utilize the company’s low-cost Standard Envelope shipping option.
The product includes an eBay branded number 10 envelope with a three-pocket insert in which to place cards and a cardboard insert designed to offer protection as the envelope heads to its destination.
eBay Standard Envelope allows sellers to send raw cards, with US Postal Service tracking, for $1.11 or less, depending on weight. Cards can be shipped in any envelope that meets specifications but the weight can not exceed three ounces.
The new mailing kit is designed to provide a USPS approved packaging option that contains all of the elements needed to ship cards via Standard Envelope. eBay says it eliminates the need for toploaders and allows sellers to ship more than just a couple of cards in a single package. The new three-pocket holder allows for the placement of up to 24 raw cards (eight per pocket), but Standard Envelope guidelines say only 15 raw cards can be sent.
The mailer is recyclable.
The kit, available on this page in the eBay Shipping Supply Store, includes 100 envelopes, pockets and cardboard inserts for $41.33.
Bascom operates the store under a license from eBay. Store subscribers can receive a coupon each quarter that can be applied to store purchases.
