The guests at a Cooperstown autograph signing this summer will be using a new DNA pen designed to ensure future authenticity.
LegacyXChange and MAB Celebrity Services, which represents over 60 athletes, say they’ll put the program to work during the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction weekend taking place from July 22-25.
MAB, with a roster of baseball immortals including 2016 Hall of Fame inductee Mike Piazza, as well as Hall of Famers Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz, Craig Biggio, Johnny Bench, Reggie Jackson and others, will be hosting a signing event at the Tunnicliff Inn. LegacyXChange will be a sponsor of the event and provide individual DNA coded pens to be used for MAB’s athlete signatures, assuring that buyer’s items marked with DNA will be registered in the LegacyXChange platform database to guarantee authenticity and help identify the items in case of loss.
LegacyXChange is preparing to launch the world’s first ecommerce site for the trading of memorabilia and collectibles utilizing unique proprietary invisible DNA marks embedded in ink used for signing merchandise. The marks are permanent and can only be verified by LegacyXChange through its database.
The company says its mission “is to help athletes and celebrities take control of their brands through the endorsement of sales of only genuine merchandise.”
LegacyXChange will also feature third party items for sale on its website beginning in the second quarter of 2016.
“As we gear up for the launch of our new site, it is imperative that we offer original products that cannot be found on any other sites, to set ourselves apart from the rest to the collectible community,” stated Bill Bollander, CEO. “MAB are experts at developing unique in demand collectibles and we are pleased to work with their elite group of athletes including members of the Hall of Fame Classes of 2015 and 2016. In the pre-launch phase, events like this help us build momentum and establish the credibility that buyers will expect from our new site, especially with our enhanced DNA technology that assures authenticity forever.”
LegacyXChange and MAB Celebrity Services previously announced signing a letter of intent to offer an exclusive line of collectibles from MAB’s athletes.
“We are excited and looking forward to the start of LegacyXChange, said Mollie Ann Bracigliano, MAB owner, “Our event during the Hall of Fame induction weekend is a signature event for MAB and we believe the addition of ensuring authenticity for our athlete’s collectibles will increase their value and give buyers greater confidence and peace of mind. We look forward to our athletes using the Legacy DNA pens to add another level of excitement to our show.”
LegacyXChange plans to release more information regarding exclusive athlete offerings prior to launch.
