The Detroit Tigers’ improbable rally to grab an American League playoff berth has fans and collectors of one of baseball’s oldest franchises excited again.
You can bet Todd Walter will be in his Tigers den, watching the action unfold this week.
The Williamston, MI resident has been collecting Detroit baseball memorabilia since the 1990s and has amassed quite a stash of history.
Along the way, he’s made friends with the (Mark) Fidrych family.
He remembers how and when he’s acquired every piece–from vintage cards to signed photos and display pieces and he keeps a good sense of humor about all of it.
“It’s a real joy to bring people to this because it’s bringing back all of the memories from their childhood,” he told WILX-TV in Lansing for the story below.
