The New York Yankees’ list of retired numbers has grown to 22–and they’re all out of single digits. As he took his place among the club’s all-time greats Sunday, there was plenty of new Derek Jeter number retirement merchandise on the market.
Some of it was wearable. Some was readable. Some you could play with. Other items were strictly for display.
Here’s a look at some of what was produced to commemorate Jeter’s arrival in Monument Park.
Derek Jeter Night Program
The Yankees created two programs for home games this month. The one sold at the ballpark on Sunday will be features a plain image of Jeter’s uniform with the words “2 FOREVER.” It carries the May 14, 2017 date and was not expected to be available in retail stores.
The second program is being sold at Yankee Stadium games all month long. It has the “MONUMENTAL” headline and a photo of Jeter waving to the crowd.
They’re $10 each at the ballpark but both are available on eBay.
“Captain” Uniform Patch
The Yankees wore a patch honoring Jeter during his final season but this is a new one and the “official logo” of the number retirement celebration. One of the least expensive pieces of Jeter-bilia, you can own one for around $15.
Topps NOW Derek Jeter Cards
Topps introduced some Jeter Number Retirement cards through its NOW program on Monday morning. The company recently agreed to a long-term contract with Jeter, which meant there were autograph versions as well (they sold quickly). The standard cards are at $9.99 (less in quantity). Relic cards were available but they weren’t expected to last long.
The NOW cards are only available for only 24 hours on the TOPPS NOW web page.
Baseballs With Jeter Number Retirement Logo
Baseballs used in the Jeter Number Retirement game will carry a special logo but collectors and fans can buy a similar version. Jeter still has an exclusive memorabilia deal with Steiner Sports, which is offering both autographed and non-autographed balls with the logo.
Steiner has put up an entire Jeter Number Retirement section on its website with items from the past and present including a few game-worn items that are left.
Derek Jeter Number Retirement Medallions, Coins
Coins on trading cards have sort of become a thing and some of the silver commemorative number retirement coins from Highland Mint are part of a baseball card configuration. There are also gold and two-tone coins you can own. These are generally also among the lower cost Jeter number retirement merchandise you can own. You can see them on Fanatics.com.
Derek Jeter Career Timeline
Jeter has been a known commodity among baseball fans since he was a top prospect as a Kalamazoo, MI high schooler in the early 1990s. His MLB debut came on May 29, 1995 and while his Hall of Fame induction won’t come until 2020, his number retirement just about completes the arc of his Yankees career. This framed timeline collage is $129.99 but actually a pretty nice way to recall some of the highlights including the World Series victories, famous plays, 3000th hit and final game. They’ll be shipped after a photo from the Jeter Night festivities can be added.

Caps, Shirts, Etc.
