Game Used Universe has made its second deal with an NFL franchise in recent months, acquiring a cache of Washington Redskins’ jerseys from the most emotional game of the 2008 season.
Last November the Washington Redskins added Sean Taylor to their ‘Ring of Fame’ in a ceremony at FedEx Field prior to the team’s November 28 game against the New York Giants. It was a fitting tribute to the slain safety who made the Pro Bowl twice in four NFL seasons and many believed could have gone on to be one of the great all-time NFL safeties.
"Sean was developing into one of the best to ever play the safety position, as well as becoming a role model to those who knew him," stated Redskins executive V.P. Vinny Cerrato. "He still touches us every day in some way on and off the field."
Game Used Universe has recently acquired a group of still unwashed jerseys worn by Redskins players that day. The burgundy-colored jerseys carry the ‘Sean Taylor 21’ memorial patch and join other 2008 Redskins jerseys that were also recently acquired by GUU and are now in the company’s online store.
It’s the second NFL deal in recent months for GUU, which recently made an agreement with the Oakland Raiders to distribute that team’s game-worn memorabilia.
All of the Redskins’ jerseys were sourced directly from the team and come with a Washington Redskins COA. Other jerseys from the Sean Taylor ‘Ring of Fame’ game that were acquired by GUU include Clinton Portis, Chris Cooley, Santana Moss, Jason Taylor, LaRon Landry, Andre Carter, Rocky McIntosh, Chris Samuels, Devin Thomas, Ladell Betts, and Shawn Springs.
