It didn’t take Andre Dawson long to capitalize on his new stature as a Baseball Hall of Famer.
After eight tries, Andre Dawson earned enough votes Wednesday to be the sole 2010 inductee to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Just a short time after the vote was announced, Dawson had an announcement of his own. He’s signed a marketing contract with Dreams, Inc., parent company of Mounted Memories and other sports memorabilia brands.
"It is with great humility that I enter the National Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its newest members," Dawson said. "This is a defining moment in my life and a perfect exclamation point to an exciting professional baseball career. As a result of this crowning achievement, inevitably, I will be faced with numerous media, corporate and business opportunities that will require serious consideration and coordination. It is in that spirit that I have recently aligned myself with Mr. Warren H. Greene, head of the corporate sports marketing division of Dreams, Inc.," stated Andre Dawson.
Expect a bevy of Dawson-signed Hall of Fame items to hit the market shortly. His flowing, precise signature has long been regarded as one of the best in the memorabilia market.
Dawson signed items are already available through Mounted Memories.
"I have known and worked with Andre for many years. He is one of the true, class acts in all of professional sports," said Greene.
