Not all Gem Mint 10s are created equal according to CSG, which has now unveiled a new “Perfect 10” grade.
The new labels will be applied to cards that have received the grade of Gem Mint 10 with all four grading criteria — centering, corners, edges and surface — being 10.
CSG says the “quad 10” is the “best a card can be, and flawless under 10x magnification.”
According to CSG’s scale, a standard Gem Mint 10 is a card “that has received a 10 grade overall; however, one of the grading criteria does not meet the requirements of a Perfect 10.”

For cards that merit the CSG Perfect 10 grade, CSG will provide complimentary quad 10 sub-grades on the back of the label.
The CSG Perfect 10 label features microprinting, UV ink, holographic foil and a unique certification number and barcode to prevent counterfeiting. A QR code on the back of the label enables collectors to look up images of the card on the CSG website.
“Admittedly, we took our time developing the CSG Perfect 10 label because we wanted it to be, well, perfect,” said Steven R. Eichenbaum, CEO of the Certified Collectibles Group, of which CSG is part. “We are thrilled to now offer a label befitting its name and the prestigious cards that it identifies.”
CSG will immediately begin encapsulating cards graded CSG Perfect 10 with the new CSG Perfect 10 label, and quad 10 sub-grades will automatically be printed on the back of the label.
