It’s not that hard for collectors to snare a piece of game-used memorabilia from hockey’s biggest star.
An ongoing series of auctions conducted through MeiGray continues to bring more authentic items to the market on a regular basis.
The latest auction is now underway with ten items on the block.
A game-worn helmet with use during last season’s playoffs, game-used sticks and skates from his first goal of the current season are part of the sale. There’s also a goal puck from last season’s playoffs.
Bidding runs through April 18.

Regional sports collecting clubs were a big part of the sports card vibe back in the 1970s and 80s. They hosted trade events (often at someone’s house) and were the ones who put on the area’s card shows.
Many—but not all—have faded away. They’ve survived in a few areas like Minneapolis-St. Paul and in the Seattle area. There’s also a relatively new club in Portland, OR, which holds regular get-togethers in the name of charity and will host a card show later this month.
