By day, he helps keep the nation’s air traffic moving in an orderly fashion. By night, he’s one of more than two dozen consignment representatives for one of the sports memorabilia industry’s top auction companies.
Steve Phillips lives in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and when a potential consignor who lives within driving distance wants to consider consigning his collection (or something they’ve got hidden in an attic), they give him a call.
Phillips’ day job can be stressful, but fielding calls and trying to secure items for a catalog auction helps take the edge off. He loves the chance to see what’s out there. With the consignments come great stories…and some trips he’d just as soon forget.
“You wouldn’t believe some of the stuff I’ve seen since I’ve been doing this,” he told the Southlake website Star Local News, which offered this feature on his exploits.
