Collectors will have the opportunity to use money from their COMC accounts to make purchases at hobby shops aligned with Upper Deck. It’s the latest move in the partnership agreement between the two companies.
The announcement came Wednesday morning at Upper Deck’s inaugural Diamond Dealer Conference in Phoenix.
COMC, one of the hobby’s largest buying and selling platforms, already has a deal in place with Upper Deck for distribution of cards through the ePack program.
Collectors who sell through COMC now have another option to use funds from the sale of cards made through the website. That money can be used to purchase other cards on the site, cashed out or used at Blowout Cards. Money spent outside the COMC platform does involve a fee.
Also at the conference on Wednesday:
- Upper Deck promised not to use the ePack program for two of its most popular brands: The Cup and SP Hockey
- Company pledged financial support to hobby shops in co-op fashion with store and website improvements
- Programs were held on various business-oriented topics to shop owners
- Mike Tyson appeared for autographs and photos
