It was one of the hottest pre-War cards on eBay in the last several weeks and when the frenzy died down Sunday night, bidding had topped $10,000.
A Connie Mack card from the 1911 Williams Baking issue drew 30 eBay bids before closing at $10,129.
The ungraded card was appropriately sold out of Philadelphia. The card was part of a set issued to honor the 1910 World Series Champions Philadelphia Athletics "and could only be acquired through the purchase of Williams Bread. Very scarce card ( VERY FEW KNOWN TO EXIST) is part of an 18 card set that are almost impossible to find in any condition."
