Sports card grader CSG is launching a new sports card centric podcast this week.
Hosted and produced by veteran podcaster and writer Alan Goldsher, “Collect This!” will be a weekly show airing on a variety of platforms. It’s the company’s first foray into podcasting.
The topics will vary from show to show, with an approach geared to both hardcore collectors and newcomers looking for more knowledge.
Goldsher recently left fractional ownership platform Collectable to head up content initiatives at CSG. Between work at Collectable and Fan Duel, he’s hosted over 500 combined podcast episodes.
Among those scheduled to appear during the podcast’s first month are collecting entrepreneur DJ Skee, former PSA President Joe Orlando and sports and pop culture appraiser Simeon Lipman (PBS’s Antiques Roadshow).
CSG is part of Certified Collectibles Group, a longtime grader of a variety of collectibles. CSG was launched in February of 2021, headed by veteran card expert and grader Andy Broome, who promises more card oriented content initiatives, including additional podcasts.
“Over the next six months, collectors and sports fans will have the opportunity to enjoy our expanded collection of written articles, exciting videos and more podcasts. To that end, by 2023, we plan to have the hobby’s first podcast network up and running.”
Broome adds, “Alan is the ideal host for CSG’s first podcast. He’s able to hit the sweet spot between entertainment and education, a balance that few hobby content creators are consistently able to strike.”
A long-time sportswriter whose work has been seen in ESPN The Magazine and on NBA.com, Goldsher is the author of 16 books, and, as a ghostwriter, has collaborated on dozens of book projects with numerous celebrities and public figures. A music producer and multi-instrumentalist, Alan is also the founder of Gold Note Records, a label with which he has released seven albums.
“Collect This!” will be available to stream on Apple, Spotify and all major podcast platforms.
