Hall of Fame weekend brings former players to upstate New York to sign for pay–and for charity.
Hall of Fame induction weekend is a busy time in Cooperstown, New York. housands of visitors spend part of their summer vacation at what one fan calls "a baseball carnival".
Some come for the ceemony that adds new members to the Hall, while the main focus for others is to snare autographs. It’s easy–but don’t forget your wallet.
A few players will sign for free around town, but most are parked in places that pay them to site for a few hours and accommodate collectors and fans willing to pay what are usually inflated prices. There are charity events too.
The local newspaper surveyed the scene on Saturday.
